KEGBALL RULES

This is a social league to have fun, anyone who gets out of control, or complains excessively or acts like an ass will be asked to leave.  This is a sport for fun and to socialize.

Number 1 Rule

You must have a cup in hand with no lid and choice of liquid at all times during play, not in mouth or any other clever spot (Women in shirts). Your choice of beverage must be in cup during all play. If you drop your cup while running, you are out!  If you drop your cup while catching the ball the batter is safe and advances 1 base.

Teams

  • 10 people play defense including catcher

  • You may have up to 12 players per team with 10 on the field with 2 designated hitters.

Time

  • Games will run for 30 mins. After 30 mins the game will end.

Pitching / Catching

  • A pitch must roll on the ground when passing over the plate, no bouncing, curves, or fastballs.

  • The pitcher must stay behind the pitching strip until the ball is kicked.

  • The catcher must field directly behind the kicker.

  • If you do not like the pitch you don't have to kick but let's not be too picky

  • If you catch the ball and cup drops, the batter is safe and advances 1 base.  If you catch the ball and put the cup in clever spot i.e. teeth, boobs...players advance 2 bases.

Kicking

  • Kicking foul 3 times is an OUT.

  • When going up to bat, you must have a full cup of your preferred beverage and once you go around the bases and make it to home plate your cup must be empty.

  • All kicks must be behind home plate.

  • Bunting is NOT allowed and you must re-kick.  If you whiff the ball you can re-kick.

  • A ball kicked outside the outfield's cones is a homerun, if ball lands before cone then bounces out, the ball is still in play.

Running

  • Runners must stay within the base line.

  • No sliding, or running into a fielder.

  • No leading off, sliding, or stealing. Runner can only advance after the ball is kicked. A runner off a base when the ball is kicked is out.

  • Runners may Tag-Up after a kicked ball is caught by the defense to advance to the next base.

  • Runners may overrun first base only.

  • Running past another runner is not allowed. Any runner passed by another runner is out.

  • IF YOU DROP YOUR CUP YOU ARE OUT!

  • IF THE OPPOSING TEAM CAN THROW THE BALL AND KNOCK YOUR CUP OUT OF YOUR HAND WHILE YOU ARE RUNNING THEN IT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY 2 OUTS!

 Foul ball

  • A ball kicked prior to 3rd or 1st and not touched by a player is foul. If caught it is an out.

Outs

  • Three (3) outs by a team complete the team’s half of the inning.

  • Runner touched by the ball while not on base & the ball is in play but the ball must be first touched by the opposing team. If the ball is kicked and you are running from 1st to 2nd base and you are touched by the ball on accident and not deliberately you are safe. If you deliberately try to stop the ball in play, then you will be out. Will be discretion of the umpire.

  • 3 fouls is an out

  • A fielder can throw a ball at a runner below the shoulders. Runners hit in the neck or head with the ball constitutes everyone on base coming home.  So don't go for the HEAD shot!

  • Play stops and the ball is dead after hitting a base runner and being declared out.

  • A kicked ball (fair or foul) that is caught in the air is out.

  • A ball thrown to a fielder touching the base beats the runner who is forced to run is out

  • IF YOU DROP YOUR CUP WHILE RUNNING YOU ARE OUT!

  • IF THE OPPOSING TEAM CAN THROW THE BALL AND KNOCK YOUR CUP OUT OF YOUR HAND THEN IT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY 2 OUTS!

Play Ends

  • When the pitcher has the ball in control and on the mound. A runner intentionally touches or stops the ball (the runner is out).

  • Spilling of beverage is perfectly fine just remember to re-fill or have a teammate spot you some beverage if you are playing defense.

Please remember to always be responsible in regards to your alcohol consumption and HAVE FUN!
